Summer months are almost over!   We have survived once again the unbearable hot summer days and nights of May to October with almost 50 deg. C/ 122 deg. F  maximum temperature especially at noon.  The burning dry wind in summer is particularly unpleasant.

I’ve heard that a long time friend will be coming for a visit and it”s good that she will be coming after summer for any visitor in the states of Arabian peninsula should be prepared for very hot conditions .   We have seen people who suffered from heat stroke and heat exhaustion and that can be a threat particularly to new arrivals in the Kingdom.  School and offices timings are sometimes cut short or even cancelled when the scorching heat becomes unbearable.   The children in school feel uncomfortable and restless and the decision was based on previous experiences when students complained of nosebleeding and heat exhaustion.

The nights are getting to be little bit chilly and the days are somehow comfortable enough.   I am looking ahead to a busier week-end to pack our summer clothes and unpack the bulky jackets, cardigans, sweaters, jogging pants ready for winter.   The shops now are teeming with winter clothes and it I am trying to resist to shop however, when we visited a local shop, I grabbed a fashionable sweater and a scarf to match.   I’ve seen an ankle boots and would love to own a pair!
