Knack for keeping worthless junk…
Posted on April 11th, 2011 @ 2:52 pm

A friend shared that his wife is considered a pack rat for she has a knack for keeping worthless junks.  They’ve just moved 2 weeks ago to a new 4 bedroom flat and recounted that he was surprised when all in all they had 100 big boxes, 100 black trash bags and almost 20 suitcases full of things. He exaggeratedly told us that half of those are junk.

His teacher wife had accumulated more stuff that she does not actually need.   Test papers, activity books,  projects of her students as old as 10 years back are still kept and that he considered them clutter because it had occupied lot of space in their room.  She keeps almost everything because for her all of them have meaning or value.  So, things never cleaned up because she does not want to part with all old stuff because of it’s sentimental value.  According to him, he will reserve one room dedicated for all his wife’s junk (or treasures).

clutter everywhere….

On the other hand, he had no choice but to truly understand that his wife is one person who is a little more sensitive in keeping things.

Hello! Mr. Buffalo!
Posted on April 7th, 2011 @ 1:53 pm

Yummy!  Yummy!  We are on food tripping again!   It is for the sake of new dining experience that every month (or after payday) we indulged in food treats.  And we chanced upon Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe and Restaurant.  I’ve been hearing about this place from a friend so when hubby and I got a chance, I readily set a date with other friends to meet up for a steak dinner.   I found it more like TGIF or Outback where we used to dine.  Pretty much the same ambiance with other steak houses we’ve been too.

The welcoming committee are waiters too accommodating to open the door and you will find this large buffalo head hanging on the wall.  Mr. Buffalo for sure has become a back ground for all photo opportunities of their customers.  Just like us, we hesitated for a while (they might call us photo addict and cheap)  but my children were not able to resist the urge to have their pictures taken with Mr. Buffalo behind.  After few shots, we took the easy way up – rode the narrow elevator to the second floor but for those who want to exercise a bit, they took the the stairs that led them to the dining area.  As usual, the over all interior of the restaurant connotes the Western type- cowboy.

Hello!  Mr. Buffalo!

Our overall impression?  We had our tummy filled with delectable menus.  We had finally experienced Buffalo and we all agreed it is one good reason to come back, say a breakfast or brunch because we were told that it opens at 9am and would cater for early risers.
So, are you with me in this food tripping?  Well, post more in my next entry….

dimmed lights on

we will be back for more…

You can never teach an old man new tricks
Posted on April 5th, 2011 @ 5:25 pm

My hubby just celebrated his 51st  birthdays 3 days ago.   Prelude to old age?  Well, I believe that he must do something about taking care of himself more because he (or we) are not getting any younger…. Last Sunday, while driving to  a meeting, he complained of shortness of breath and numbness on his left arm.  Knowing him having history of hypertension, alarmed, we proceeded to the Emergency room of a nearby hospital to have him checked.   He had his ECG done and X-ray (??? wonder why chest X-ray) and an IV fluid administered.

According to the attending physician, the pain was not related to hypertension but a neck problem, suspecting some nerves might have been blocked or twisted that caused numbness.  What a relief…but still he needs to take care.  He should not rest with the thought that his ECG was normal… he might overindulge again.  Actually that  is his weakness, he would not listen because he loves to eat and most often than not he would not skip eating those foods that he needs to avoid confident that his medicines are ever ready… lol…   Of course, I want him to enjoy food but he need to watch his intake.  I am not imposing too much restrictions on him and really, I would not want to see him starving.   Hubby should eat sensibly and healthy before it’s too late.

This illustration is worth sharing to all (including him….).

Oh well, it is really true… we can never teach an old man new tricks!

A birthday poem for hubby…..
Posted on April 2nd, 2011 @ 7:48 am

To my dear husband ….

If you were not born today…where would I be?
Buried in the depths of misery..
Doomed to sadness and agony..
Crying for Love…hopelessly

But you were born today
I thank God sincerely
For all the happy life you gave me

We love you!
